Teaching at University of Phoenix

Susan has been an instructor for the University of Phoenix since 2012. She was honored at the Albuquerque, New Mexico Campus as Faculty of the Year in 2017, for her contribution to creating a Syllabus Modification for the Graduate Marketing Class for Special Service Projects. She and her students created Marketing Plans for two non-profit organizations: Boys and Girls Club of Central New Mexico, and Cottonwood Gulch.

Susan was selected to transition from in-person teaching at the Albuquerque, NM Campus to Online teaching in 2020. She has been teaching Creativity and Communication (BSCOM/435) regularly since then.

Susan is qualified to teach more than a dozen Graduate and Bachelor’s courses for the University of Phoenix, School of Business. Her experience as a successful entrepreneur as well as in the Corporate environment has enabled her to develop expertise on many topics, including Creativity and Communication, Marketing and Strategy, Macroeconomics, Innovative Leadership, Business Communications, Organizational Behavior & Leadership, Change Management, Organizational Negotiations, and Critical Thinking & Decision Making.

In order to enhance communication with her students in her online classes, she has developed 12 videos with her tips on how to achieve the best grades possible on the assignments in her class. These videos have been very well received, especially by students who have dyslexia or simply enjoy having enhanced personal encouragement and advice.

Susan’s’ students have been performing at a higher level due to their access to her personal advice. Topics she discusses in the twelve 3-5 minute videos include guidance on each of the assignments, as well as how to use the University’s Library to find peer-reviewed papers, how to use Grammarly to eliminate writing errors, and how to be an effective team member on team assignments.
